The measure is intended to “protect the United States from national security risks.” American media previously reported that Washington would introduce this ban. In response, China warned the US not to take discriminatory measures against Chinese companies. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on Washington to “respect market principles and provide an open, fair, transparent and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese enterprises.”
