Max Verstappen returned to winning ways and turned pole into victory in the United States GP sprint race, with Carlos Sainz finishing second after passing Lando Norris on the final lap.
Verstappen made a very good start, with Norris also impressing as he overtook both the Ferrari drivers and George Russell to put himself into 2nd. From then on, Red Bull had an undisputed lead, with the Dutchman taking his fourth Sprint win of the season.
Norris was for most of the race in 2nd place, but an attack by Sainz on the penultimate lap, forced the Briton into a mistake at the 1st corner of the track. Charles Leclerc followed in fourth, while Mercedes drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton saw the checkered flag from 5th and 6th. Haas’ Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the top eight.
