US imposes sanctions on Chinese companies… “Weapons manufactured for Russia”

The United States has imposed sanctions for the first time on a Chinese company that supplied weapons to Russia.

According to CNN on the 18th (local time), China’s Xiamen Limbach Aircraft Engine and Red Repous Vector Industries Shenzhen were placed on the U.S. Treasury Department’s sanctions list.

The Ministry of Finance said that Shaman Limbach was confirmed to manufacture engines for the Garpya series of drones used by the Russian military.

Garpiya, whose prototype was released in the first half of last year, can fly up to 1,500 km and is currently deployed on the battlefield in Ukraine and is being used to strike major infrastructure.

Red Repous Vector is known to be exporting drones to Russia. The company also exported automatic data processing devices and electronic components that can be used in drones and aviation engines to Russia through Russian defense company TSK Vector.

This is the first time that a Chinese company that provides arms to Russia has actually been placed on the sanctions list.

U.S. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said, “Russia has been manufacturing various instruments that can be used in war using various parts exported by Chinese companies,” and added, “This is the first time that it has been confirmed that a Chinese company exported actual weapons to Russia.”

However, China denied the charge that it exported weapons to Russia.

The Chinese Embassy in Washington DC said in a statement, “The United States is pouring unprecedented military support into Ukraine, but is criticizing normal trade between China and Russia,” calling it a “hypocritical and irresponsible double standard.”

Shaman Limbach, which was subject to sanctions, also claimed that it has never manufactured engines for the Garpiya series of drones or exported its products to Russia.
