US to discuss war strategy with Zelenskiy and prepare “substantial” support package
US President Joe Biden expects to discuss Ukraine’s war strategy with President Volodymyr Zelensky this month, and Washington is working on a “substantial” new aid package, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said on Saturday.
Zelenskiy said he wants to present to Biden and his two potential successors a “victory plan” that could push Russia to end the war in Ukraine through diplomatic channels, writes Reuters.
“I think we need a comprehensive strategy to be successful in this war, and that’s what President Zelenskiy says he’s bringing, so we’re looking forward to sitting down and talking about that, and President Biden is looking forward to that conversation.” , Sullivan said.
He spoke via video link at the Yalta European Strategy conference organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in Kyiv.
Sullivan said the US also plans to prepare a “substantial” support package with various capabilities by the end of the month in an attempt to prevent a significant Russian advance in eastern Ukraine.
