US Treasury Department reveals it was the target of cyber attack and accuses Beijing – World

The United States Treasury Department revealed this Monday, in a letter to congressmen in the House of Representatives, that it was the victim of a cyber attack in early December, with no risk to confidential data, accusing Beijing of financing the operation.

According to the letter, consulted by the France-Presse agency (AFP), the attack affected several Treasury jobs, using software from a partner, BeyondTrust.

According to the same source, the attack was carried out “according to available indications, by an actor financially supported by China.”
