White House spokesman for national security John Kirby said today that the United States of America has not yet changed its position on the use of long-range missiles on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Kirby stated that he does not expect that today’s conversation between US President Joseph Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will result in an announcement of a change in US policy regarding the use of missiles on Russian territory.

– There is no change in our position regarding providing Ukraine with the ability to strike with long-range weapons inside Russia. I would not expect any big announcement in this regard – said Kirby, reports Reuters.

He stressed that the US takes seriously the warning of Russian President Vladimir Putin that it will consider the West directly involved in the conflict if Ukraine fires Western long-range missiles at Russia.

– This is not rhetoric we have not heard from him before. He has clearly shown himself to be capable of aggression… Yes, we take these comments seriously – stated Kirby.
