Valencia-Real Madrid and Villarreal-Rayo postponed by DANA

LaLiga has issued an official statement confirming that this weekend the matches that were scheduled in the Valencian Community in both LaLiga EA Sports and Laliga Hypermotion will not be played due to the deadliest storm in the history of Spain.

DANA continues to leave heavy rains along the entire eastern coast of the peninsula, leaving for Thursday a situation of “extreme risk” in Castellón, since they have classified its situation as a “red alert.” Furthermore, after the tragedy experienced in Valencia and surrounding towns, both the clubs and the league itself have agreed not to put fans and players at risk and to respectfully mourn the victims who have died.

The LaLiga statement:

“In response to the request made yesterday Wednesday to the RFEF to postpone the matches on matchday 12 of LaLiga EA Sports and matchday 13 of LaLiga Hypermoiton that were to be played in the Valencian Community during this weekend, LaLiga informs that the Competition judge has ruled favorably on said request.

In its resolution, it calls on LALIGA and the Clubs to formulate a proposal with new dates for the corresponding LALIGA matches before next Tuesday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m.: Villarreal CF-Rayo Vallecano, Valencia CF-Real MadridCD Castellón-RC Ferrol, CD Eldense-SD Huesca and Levante UD-Málaga CF”.
