– The opinion polls expected the opposition to win. The ruling Socialists did everything they could to obstruct the opposition forces, preventing its main leader, Maria Corina Machado, from running and even punishing the hotels where she stayed during the campaign. To what extent do these results reflect the will of the Venezuelan people?
– The Venezuelan socialist dictatorship committed a big fraud, because all serious international opinion polls named the opposition force, Edmundo González Urrutia (who works closely with Maria Corina Machadon) as the winner by 70-30 percent. The National Electoral Council (CNE), which is dominated by dictator Nicolás Maduro, says Maduro received 5.15 million votes, ahead of Edmundo González Urrutia, who won 4.5 million votes (44.2 percent).
So it’s a huge scam.

Yes, and it is actually a coup, but not against the elected leader, and not with weapons, but with the help of modern technology.

– You were also a political prisoner in the prison of the Chavez regime. How do you experience what is happening in your country?
– For us, the persecuted, political prisoners and the eight million Venezuelans who had to flee their country due to hunger, persecution and human rights violations, the electoral fraud is very bad news, because we all want to return to our country. We want our political prisoners to be free. We also want to restore democracy, so this result is a huge disappointment.
But I think the final word has not yet been spoken on the matter, which is why it is important that the international community also reacts to this fraud.
“Can people revolt against the results?” Could the country descend into chaos?
– First of all, I have to say that this situation is just beginning, the Venezuelan population does not accept the results, they are protesting in the streets. The opposition, Maria Corina Machado and Edmundo González Urrutia, do not accept the results.
Many states do not recognize the results either, including Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica. There will be severe crisis and confusion in my country in the coming days. It would be important for the European institutions and countries to condemn the fraud, because it helps the actually elected president, Edmundo González Urrutia, to come to power, because he actually won the elections.
So this is just the beginning of the fight. Nicolás Maduro himself said there would be a bloodbath. But what he didn’t say a few weeks ago is that he was going to provoke this bloodbath.
– How do you evaluate the fact that the former prime minister of a European country, the Spanish socialist José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, is helping Maduro and his regime as an election observer?
– José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero is not a welcome person in my country, he is just a puppet in the hands of Nicolás Maduro. And he is not the only one who supports this fraud, but also Iran, China, Russia and the Puebla group. Venezuela has become a place where they can freely exercise their illegal activities.
