From the village merchant of Tuuri Vesa from Keski youth photos have been published. The pictures have been published on the Kyläkauppa website in the history section.
Merchant traditions go back a long way in Vesa’s family roots.
The story tells that the merchant story of the Keskinen family already begins with the current village merchant Vesa Keskinen grandfather’s grandfather Kustaa Keskinen from youth. In the 19th century, he worked as a traveling salesman in the area of the sparsely populated neighboring towns of the village of Tuuri. Pissing son Matias continued his father’s work as a traveling salesman. After Matias died young, his 17-year-old son Hope took on both trading and taking care of his mother and eight siblings.
In 1946, Toivo established his first permanent store in the closet of his little red house. He moved the operation to the sawmill’s workshop building, to the current location of Kyläkaupa, in 1969. In 1976, Toivo’s sons Matti and Mikko Keskinen bought TMK Keskinen from their father and founded Veljekset Keskinen Oy.
In 1987, Vesa Keskinen, Matin’s son, starts working in the Village Store Service. In 1994, he becomes the company’s CEO.
