Vestager guarded for 10 years. Now Wammen announces a new approach

Margrethe Vestager has barely found the moving boxes in her office in Brussels before the Danish government announces a new approach to the controversial competition rules, which she has been responsible for as EU commissioner for the past 10 years.

The rules are regularly hailed as protecting citizens and consumers against monopolies and exorbitant prices, but according to Finance Minister Nicolai Wammen (S), they are hampering growth in Europe, which lags behind the US and China.
