The breakdown, which occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday 16 July, was caused by an error during roadworks underway along the stretch of road near the Courthouse. And this after a few days before, some citizens recall, the electricity had already gone out, again due to the work in progress.
A problem of vast proportions, therefore, which adds criticality to an area recently already hit by the effects of severe bad weather. A situation that made the involvement of the civil protection of the Municipality of Milan indispensable.
Why wasn’t the water turned off immediately in Via Fontana?
Residents have highlighted that the intervention to interrupt the water flow was not timely, worsening the flooding of Via Fontana.
According to what was reported by Corriere della Sera, the Mmthe company that manages the city’s water network, has chosen to preserve water pressure to ensure supply to the Policlinico, which is located a short distance away, as well as to other sensitive users.
