In Seget Donji in Dalmatia, the fire danced through a wooded area around 6:30 p.m. With the help of the wind, he quickly approached one of the camps. The footage shows flames near houses, hotels and other facilities on the beach. Slobodna Dalmacija reported that some tourists started to leave the hotels in panic as the fire approached.
Firefighters responded immediately. There were about 120 of them on the ground, and the fire was brought under control with the help of three specialized firefighting aircraft. Just like in Slovenia on the Karst, the Croatian firefighters are also afraid that the gale would intensify, which would make extinguishing more difficult. But by evening, the fire was contained and brought under control. Commander of the Croatian fire brigade Slavko Tucaković told Index that the fire no longer poses a threat to settlements and people.
