Vinted Go celebrates its second anniversary and displays new ambitions on the French market

On the occasion of its second anniversary, Vinted Go looks back at the major stages of its development in France by announcing the extension of its offer through a new partnership and the support of relays between individuals.

A second candle for Vinted Go, Vinted’s delivery service! Launched in July 2022, Vinted Go offers lockers and relays allowing Vinted members to send and receive their items with ease, thanks to flexible hours and a fast pick-up and drop-off experience. In two years, Vinted Go now covers more than 50% of French territory and is continuing its development with a major new initiative: the launch, next September, of relays between individuals.

More than 3 million parcels delivered by Vinted Go in France since 2024

Present in more than 1,400 municipalities spread across 67 departments, including the 20 most populated cities in France, Vinted Go continues its development throughout the territory. Today, the Vinted Go network is made up of more than 4,500 relays and lockers in France. A figure that is growing rapidly, since the service had 1,565 last December – an increase of +300% – and which tends to grow further, Vinted Go’s ambition is to reach 7,000 points by the end of 2024.

Precisely placed relay points

The Vinted Go locker and relay network relies on numerous partners from various sectors of activity: mass distribution (Carrefour, Franprix, Monoprix, Casino, etc.), specialist distribution (Bio C Bon, Truffaut, NAP group through the Maison de la presse, Point Plus, etc. brands), shopping centres (Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield group, Carmila, Klepierre, Nhood, etc.), service stations and independent retailers (grocery stores, laundromats, etc.). Points thoughtfully placed to maximize convenience and flexibility for Vinted membersSince the beginning of 2024, more than 3 million parcels have been delivered by Vinted Go in France.

Vytautas Atkocaitis, Vice President of Vinted Go, said: “Consumers expect a delivery service to be easy to use, affordable and have a limited impact on the environment. These are the challenges we are addressing at Vinted Go. We are therefore delighted to see our network grow significantly and aim to cover two-thirds of France by the end of the year.“.

Vinted Go expands its offering by partnering with Welco

In its ongoing approach to proximity with its users, Vinted Go is launching peer-to-peer relays in partnership with Welco starting next SeptemberThis new service will allow individuals to act as relays, thus facilitating the reception of packages for Vinted members: They will be able to collect their packages directly from local Welco partners.. The experience will be very similar to that of a Vinted Go relay, since the buyer will be able to choose, directly on the application, the point where he wishes to receive his package and will be informed of the opening hours provided by the Welco local relay. Similarly, as for a traditional Vinted Go relay, each package will be kept for 7 days before being returned to its sender. From September 2024, 1,000 peer-to-peer relays from the 90,000 Welco points will join the Vinted Go network.

Logistics that are ever more environmentally friendly

Emissions related to deliveries represent 98% (1) of Vinted’s total carbon footprint, the company is focusing its efforts on logistics operations. Vinted Go continues to favor deliveries to collection points (PUDO), which can help reduce emissions compared to home deliveries (2). Vytautas Atkocaitis concludes, “We work hand in hand with our shipping partners to ensure that PUDO is always the cheapest option, as we know that shipping costs are a determining factor for Vinted members. This way, they are more likely to prefer this delivery method and therefore limit their impact on the climate.“.

(1) In 2022, total emissions from deliveries were 282,471 tCO2e. According to the European Environment Agency (EEA), Vinted has been able to avoid the carbon dioxide equivalent of 3.6 billion vehicle kilometres travelled.
