Violence against a woman from a reality show triggers a six-year prison sentence

A 21-year-old man is sentenced to six years in prison for several cases of serious violence, threats and psychological violence against a female reality TV participant.

The verdict was handed down on Wednesday afternoon at the Court in Aarhus.

Among other things, the man was found guilty of throwing the woman against a bookcase and strangling her, so that she briefly lost consciousness.

He has also been found guilty of breaking the woman’s nose with a punch during a drive.

In court, the 21-year-old admitted that he had beaten the woman several times and explained that the two had a tumultuous relationship in the period from April to December 2023.

– It was a very toxic relationship with a lot of jealousy. We were both jealous and unhealthy for each other, said the man at the first court hearing.

The woman, who is known for her participation in a reality show on TV, could tell about a nine-month-long nightmare of violence.

Among other things, she traveled with two friends to Alanya in Turkey, immediately after she had broken up with her husband.

But out of the blue, the man suddenly appeared while she was sitting in a restaurant at the resort.

According to the woman, it ended with violence.

– He gets these black, dark eyes, sat on top of me and punched me three or four times in the face. My jaw split, the woman explained in court.

According to the woman, the relationship culminated when the 21-year-old put a gun to her forehead in an apartment in Tilst near Aarhus. However, no shots were fired as the gun allegedly jammed.

The prosecution had charged the man with attempted murder on the basis of the relationship with the gun.

However, the court did not find it proven that the man had intended to kill the woman, and therefore the man was acquitted of attempted murder.

He was also acquitted of a charge of depriving the woman of her liberty and subjecting her to illegal coercion.

The convict entered courtroom 3 smiling shortly before the sentencing. He has a short cut with dark hair, a beard and is wearing a black Hugo Boss shirt.

After a short break, the defense lawyer could announce that the verdict will be appealed to the High Court.

The convict will be acquitted of the circumstances he has not acknowledged, it says.

The audience seats are filled with relatives and friends who have been following the case since it began in October.
