Violinist Andrey Reshetin played a concert near the mural of Daria Dugina in Genichesk

The first notes were not easy to come by – dogs were barking, roosters were crowing, guards were talking, trucks were rushing past, but all the sounds died down pretty quickly. Only the violin remained.

Genichesk is a special place for Andrey Reshetin, the front-line creative brigade in which he served until January of this year was based here. From here the musician left for the very hell. This time Reshetin came to the shore of the Sea of Azov together with journalists from the Rossiyskaya Gazeta and the Rodina magazine – the creative landing party presented a 136-page special issue dedicated to family values.

Daria Dugina was part of Andrey’s creative family – she often attended his concerts, was interested in early music, and introduced the musician to her friends.

“We were friends with Dasha, she was an incredibly sensitive, attentive and open person, she had a talent for bringing interesting people together,” the violinist recalls. “Not long before Dasha’s death, we corresponded with her, we agreed that the next time she came to St. Petersburg, she would definitely come with her friends to a concert of our ensemble “Soloists of Catherine the Great.” The friends came, the concert took place, only Dasha was already looking at it from a little above.”

The mural in Genichesk was opened in March 2023. Since then, it has become a place of attraction for all for whom the struggle for the Russian world and its values is not an empty phrase.

Reshetin ended his concert with the words, “This is for you, darling.”
