The men’s water polo team, which is preparing for the Paris Olympics, defeated the French team with five-meters at the Domino Trans international men’s preparation tournament on Margitsziget.

Péter Kovács replaced Márton Vámos, who was missing from the Hungarian team’s 13-man Olympic squad this time due to illness. The Hungarians got off to a good start in the meeting, but they couldn’t finally break down their Olympic host rivals, which turned from 2-5 to 7-6.

The end of regular time was a 9-9 draw, and the Hungarians shot flawlessly in the five-meter penalty, so they started with a win. Zsolt Varga’s team will meet the Italians on Friday at 8 p.m.
