The Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry awarded contracts to beneficiaries who received grants for the purchase of quality breeding cows in Vojvodina. 150 million dinars were allocated for these purposes, and contracts were awarded to 98 beneficiaries.
The goal of the competition is to increase the efficiency, competitiveness and sustainability of production on farms in Vojvodina in 2024, according to the website of the Provincial Government.
“The departmental secretariat allocates funds for equipping livestock farms and processing meat and milk, and guided by national recommendations, this is another measure in a series by which we want to encourage our farmers to engage in livestock farming, but also to help those who already have it as an activity”, said Dragica Ilić, Assistant Provincial Secretary for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry.
As she reminded, this support measure was implemented for the first time last year, but on a much smaller scale, and that it was changed in order to contribute as much as possible to the improvement of the situation in the field of animal husbandry.
According to her, the maximum amount of funds for the purchase of quality breeding heads of cattle-heifers is up to three million dinars, while the amount for the purchase of gilts, sheep and goats is up to one million dinars. The minimum amount of grants is 200,000 dinars.
“We will try to implement such support measures in the coming period as well, because we believe that this is one of the more successful contests of the Secretariat”, said Ilić and added that this is supported by the fact that last year there were 122 applicants for this program, and that this year even 405 applications met the conditions of the competition.
