The new Volkswagen Tayron with seven seats will have its official premiere in a few days, and it will arrive on the European market as the successor to the retired Tiguan Allspace.
It is a global model, as it is planned to be produced not only in China (Anting and Changchun), but also in Germany (Wolfsburg) and Mexico (Peubla).
Like the new Tiguan, it is based on the new Volkswagen MQB evo platform.
Regarding the dimensions, the length is 4770 mm, the width is 1852 mm, and the height is 1660 mm. Compared to the Tiguan, the Tayron is longer by 231 mm, while the wheelbase is extended by 114 mm.
According to announcements, the interior brings a completely new concept and design. Emphasis is placed on materials and workmanship according to the highest standards. In addition, the new cockpit is intuitive to use, closely integrated, with clean lines and smart design. Modules include a new Digital Cockpit (digital instruments with anti-reflection coating in tablet format with a setting in landscape mode), an infotainment screen with a completely new menu structure and graphics, as well as a new head-up screen (projection on the windshield).
Thanks to the MQB evo platform, the Tayron will be available with different types of power units. Turbo diesel (TDI), turbo petrol (TSI), mild hybrid turbo petrol engines (eTSI) and plug-in hybrid systems (eHybrid, with an electric-only range of more than 100 km) are expected.
Depending on the engine, customers will also be able to choose between front or all-wheel drive.
Tayron will be equipped with a large number of systems for assistance and increasing comfort as standard. In addition to the system for changing the lane (Side Assist), the system for autonomous emergency braking (Front Assist), the system for maintaining the vehicle in the lane (Lane Assist) and the system for displaying the rear part of the vehicle (Rear View), there is also the Dynamic display of traffic characters. The offer will also be enriched with numerous optional systems. Among other things, the offer will include the following technologies: Park Assist Pro with the possibility of remote parking (for automatic parking and exiting a parking space controlled by the driver from outside the vehicle via a smartphone application) or a system for assistance when maneuvering with a trailer (Trailer Assist ).
