Volkswagen Tayron, the interiors of the long wheelbase SUV

Between the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Touareg are the Tayron. The new SUV from Wolfsburg shares a lot with the Tiguan, but takes on-board space and habitability to the next level, making available seven seats.

On the dashboard we find a 12.9″ central display in the basic models and 15” for the most advanced setups, while the instrument panel is always from 10,25”. In general, the overall layout largely reflects that seen on the Tiguan, although we find even more attention to some details (such as an “eyelid” on the dashboard that protects the digital panel from reflections).

The central tunnel features a large pocket tray and two wireless charging stations, while a multifunction rotor allows you to adjust the volume, driving modes and ambient lights (with a choice of 10 or 30 colors, depending on the trim level) .

Volkswagen Tayron, finishes and materials

On the Tayron there is a lot of care for the materials and coverings. The synthetic leather seats envelop you well, while the fabric-like materials on the dashboard and door panel create a pleasant feeling to the touch. The passenger side is elaborate from a design point of view, while the workmanship in piano black and satin steel is well done.

Behind we find the same level of attention, with the addition of sunblinds integrated into the door panels.

Il wheelbase of 2.79 metres (10 cm more than the Tiguan) allows for even more space for rear passengers. Even five people can travel comfortably, with the Tayron proving to have excellent overall habitability. There is a little less space for the two seats in the third row, mainly reserved for children.

Volkswagen Tayron, the trunk

Il trunk it is more than enough to meet the needs of a family. They range from 345 liters available in the configuration 7 seatsto 850 liters with five seats and 2,090 liters with all seats folded down. In the case of the plug-in hybrid versions, the volume decreases by around a hundred litres.
