2025 promises to be a very important year for Volvo. By 2026, the Swedish company aims to launch 10 new products and among these there are some very interesting ones positioned in key segments of the market.
There is talk of the electric heir to the XC60 (which will be called EX60), but also of the first battery-powered flagship, namely the ES90. Furthermore, Volvo is reportedly working on a new plug-in hybrid crossover with very high electric range, but there is very little information on this model.
Volvo EX60
The EX60 is certainly the most anticipated Volvo of 2025 and not only because it will challenge the Tesla Model Y, Audi Q6 e-tron and BMW iX3, but also because it will have new generation batteries.
Based on SPA platform 3will have a structural battery pack which, according to the company, will lead to greater energy density and better structural rigidity. Equipped with an 800 Volt architecture for fast charging, the EX60 should allow a range of up to 644 km.
Furthermore, on the EX60 we should find level 3 autonomous driving, made possible by new LiDAR sensors and advanced software developed by NVIDIA.

It will be the heir to the S90 and will be born from SPA platform 2 (the same as the EX90) to directly challenge BMW i5, Audi A6 e-tron and Mercedes EQE. We know little about it, but it is logical to think that to be competitive with these models it will have to have batteries of around 80-100 kWh and autonomy of between 500 and 700 km.
In any case, we won’t have to wait long to find out more details, with the presentation of the new Volvo expected to take place in March 2025.
