Last week Volvo announced that it would not offer all-electric vehicles until 2030, with the Swedish company announcing another major shift in its strategy today.
More specifically, the company is transferring the Care by Volvo assistance programs in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway to new owners, while it is gradually abolishing them in the United Kingdom, where in a statement it said:
Volvo has started the process of reviewing solutions in local markets to transfer active contracts to new partners with the aim of ensuring a smooth transition of financing providers. The decision to move away from in-house leasing to a partner is to ensure that we provide products that suit customer needs, while at the same time ensuring that we have resources to further digitize our entire business.
Volvo has ended the Care by Volvo program in the US, where it was available in more than 40 states. The Care by Volvo service provided owners – through a fixed monthly subscription – leasing services for the acquisition of a car, covering both insurance and maintenance.
