von der Leyen eliminated competitors

The new European Commission, another assassination attempt on Donald Trump and Germany’s self-centered China policy.

The week that has started is, at least from the perspective of the briefing, for Europe, because it has just become clear what the future European Commission will look like. At first glance, it seems that the Baltic Sea countries are represented quite prominently.

However, it is not clear what the fact that the assassination attempt of the US ex-president no longer causes great excitement is about. But the fact that the policies of Washington and Berlin are still and predictably short-sighted towards Russia and China is, of course, continuing to be depressing.

Distressing foot-dragging in helping Ukraine. Although the US has hinted that it will eventually allow Ukraine to hit targets in Russia with its long-range missiles, Washington has not yet made an official decision. In April, the Americans semi-secretly sent this kind of missiles to Ukraine, but until now they have not allowed to fire them across the border. Although Moscow cannot be fired with ATACMS with a range of 300 kilometers, several important air bases and other military targets remain within range.

At the same time, Russia continues to bomb Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure. In Harkivi, a residential building was hit again, as a result of which at least one person died and half a hundred were injured. And Russia is also increasing the size of its army, reaching one and a half million men by the end of the year. At the beginning of the war, there were just over a million men in the armed forces. Currently, mobilization continues, but men are also recruited from conscripts who have just served their year.
