Although the iPhone 16 has only been available for a short time, you may already have a crack in the screen. A repair at Apple is often a costly affair. Good news if you’re handy: Apple will be selling the necessary parts from this week through the official self-service repair store.
Apple’s self-service repair program was launched in 2022 and offers people the opportunity to repair their Apple devices themselves. According to Apple the service is “intended for people who have the knowledge and experience to repair electronic devices.”
MacRumors writes that the parts for the iPhone 16 have been available for sale in North America and many European countries since this week. The online store which carries out sales for Apple in the Netherlands, indeed offers replacement parts for the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The battery, the bottom speaker and the camera can be ordered there.
Macs can also be repaired yourself
According to MacRumors, Apple’s parts replacement guides have been available for some time, but the parts themselves have not yet been offered. In addition to parts for iPhones (from the iPhone 12), parts can also be ordered to repair Mac computers yourself.
