They are back in action: The TV investigators from “WaPo Bodensee” are starting their seventh season. The first case is tough.

The fall series also delivers new episodes of the successful ARD evening series “WaPo Bodensee”. Next Tuesday (October 15th, 6:50 p.m.) things will get serious again for the water police in the first. Right in the first episode “Invisible enemy“The TV investigators led by boss Nele Fehrenbach (Floriane Daniel) have to investigate the death of a former plastic surgeon.

He and his lover set off to the island of Mainau in a pedal boat. The romantic trip to the “Flower Island” ends in catastrophe. The boat capsizes and the doctor doesn’t make it to shore alive.

It quickly becomes clear that the pedal boat has been tampered with. The investigators find drill holes below the waterline. Did someone want to kill the former beauty doc? The boat rental company comes under suspicion, a dubious former employee attracts attention – does he have something to do with the accident?

Real policewoman plays along

The seventh season of the early evening series gets off to a promising start. And there is also a lot on offer between people. TV investigator Max König alias Jakob Frings is caught up in his past. His former great love Sonja (Lily Menke) is suddenly at the door again – along with her eight-year-old daughter Tammi.

Also taking part in the first episode is police officer Dorothee Augustin, who trained with the water police in real life. The difference to the real police: “A lot more happens here than what happens in reality,” says the supporting actress. One thing: “Everything is cleared up relatively quickly here.” The viewer would ultimately want to be entertained.

“WaPo Bodensee” is becoming increasingly successful

Nine new episodes of the early evening series were filmed against a picturesque backdrop in Radolfzell on Lake Constance, among other places. In addition to murder cases, the TV investigators have to solve a kidnapping and missing person cases. The series is slowly approaching its 100th episode.

“WaPo Bodensee” is one of the most successful early evening series on the first. In January 2023, a ten-year high was reached in the time slot with 3.37 million viewers and 14.3 percent market share.

It has only been since 2017 that the “WaPo Bodensee” has been sailing through the evening before on the first. When the last season started, the series reached more than three million viewers. In recent years, the show has continually increased its ratings. Twelve new episodes will be created by the end of the year.
