V. Zelenskiy promised that in 2025, Ukraine will do everything to stop Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky promised on Tuesday that his country would use any means to end the nearly three-year-long Russian invasion by 2025.
The Ukrainian leader’s speech capped a difficult year for the war-torn country, which has been defending itself against Russia’s better-equipped military for nearly three years.
“Let 2025 be our year,” said V. Zelenskis addressing the nation just before the clock struck midnight.
“We know that peace will not be given to us, but we will do everything to stop Russia and end the war,” he said.
Ukraine has lost seven times more territory to Russia this year than it did in 2023, according to the AFP news agency, and faces a cut in US military and political support when Donald Trump returns to the White House.

However, V. Zelensky seemed optimistic about D. Trump’s return.
“I have no doubt that the new American president wants and can achieve peace and end (Russian President Vladimir) Putin’s aggression,” V. Zelensky said.
