Russian independent media outlet Mediazona, together with BBC Russia, has confirmed the names and surnames of 77,143 Russian soldiers who have died since the beginning of the Russian invasion, through an open source investigation.

Since the last update of Mediazona at the end of October, to the dead list 1,761 names of Russian soldiers were included.

The journalists note that the true numbers are likely to be much higher, as the information they verified came from public sources such as obituaries, reports from relatives, regional media reports and statements from local authorities.

November 8 In a published interview, the UK defense minister said that in October, Russian forces suffered the highest number of casualties since the start of the entire invasion, with an average of 1,354 deaths per day.

According to Britain’s Defense Intelligence Agency, Russia has probably suffered more than 696,000 casualties since the full-scale invasion began, which corresponds to November 9. the published current Ukrainian total loss figure of 707,540.

According to some experts, the increased losses in recent months may be one of the factors that led to the deployment of North Korean troops in Russia.

November 7 President Volodymyr Zelensky said North Korean troops fighting Ukrainian forces were suffering losses in Russia’s Kursk region, although he did not give an estimated number of casualties.

Since Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine, more than 4,300 officers have been killed in fighting in Ukraine. Analysts also note that at least 14,204 Russian convicts died on Ukraine’s eastern front.
