The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke by phone with the candidate for the US presidency, Donald Trump. This was reported by the publication “Ukrainska pravda”, citing sources.

Later, this information was confirmed by V. Zelenskis himself.

“I spoke to Donald Trump to congratulate him on the Republican nomination for President of the United States and to condemn the shocking assassination attempt on him in Pennsylvania.” I wished him strength,” the president said on the social network.

He said he spoke of the “vital” support of both major American parties and both houses of the American Congress “in defense of our country’s freedom and independence.”

“We agreed with President Trump during a personal meeting to discuss what steps can make the world just,” he wrote.

D. Trump also confirmed the information about the telephone conversation with V. Zelensky, calling the conversation “very good”.

“He congratulated me on a very successful Republican National Convention and my nomination as the Republican nominee for President of the United States.” He condemned the horrific assassination attempt last Saturday and noted that the spirit of unity unites the American people these days,” Trump announced.
He also noted that he is grateful to President V. Zelensky for addressing him.
“As the next president, I will bring peace to the world and end the war that has claimed so many lives and destroyed so many innocent families.” Both sides can unite and negotiate an agreement that will end the violence and pave the way for prosperity,” Trump added.
