watchOS 11 now available

Apple has just released the official version of watchOS 11. We recommend making a backup before updating. Keep in mind that it is done automatically along with the iPhone backup.





To download the system, you need to launch the Watch app on your iPhone, go to General and Updates. To install the update, you need to connect the watch to a charger and have the battery charged at least 50 percent. The update is also available from the watch. To do this, go to Settings, General and Software Updates.

To further support your fitness journey, you can now customize your Activity ring goals by day of the week, and even pause them for a rest day. watchOS 11 also includes Check In, the Translate app, new ways to support you during pregnancy, sleep apnea notifications, and more.

Fitness

  • Track the impact of the intensity, based on exercise ratings, and duration of your workouts on your body over time with Training Load.
  • See stress estimates automatically provided after you complete popular cardio workouts including running, cycling, swimming, hiking and more.
  • See how your effort is classified into one of four effort labels: Easy, Moderate, Hard, and All Out, and modify them to match your perception of the effort required to complete your workout.
  • Distance has been included as an in-session metric for a wider range of sports in the Workout app, including soccer and American football, and route maps have been added for additional outdoor workouts like outdoor rowing and cross-country skiing.
  • Create custom workouts for pool swim workouts with support for work and recovery sets.
  • View the time remaining in your current interval and prepare for your next interval with the Next Workout view in Custom Workouts.
  • Customize your activity ring goals by day of the week in the Activity app.

Translator

  • Dictate phrases and they will be automatically translated and played aloud in 20 languages ​​(including Polish).
  • Easily access the Translate app with a widget in the Smart Stack, which will be intelligently added when you travel to a place where the language is different from your Apple Watch.
  • View language pronunciations using the Latin alphabet to make interactions easier in Mandarin (Simplified CN), Japanese, and Korean.
  • Download languages ​​to access offline translation without a cellular or Wi-Fi connection (available on Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2)

For swimmers and surfers

  • View tide data for over 115,000 beaches and 5,000 surf spots worldwide, including high and low tides, tide elevation and direction with the new Tides app.

  • Customize the time display on Apple Watch with one of nine major Indian alphabets (Bengali, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Kannada, Malayalam, Mejti, Odia, Ol Chiki, Telugu) and three new languages ​​(Burmese, Khmer, Urdu) available on select watch faces (Astronomical, California, Memoji, Modular, Modular Duo, Modular Compact, Utility, World Time, and X-Large).

  • Trigger Check In from Messages, workout controls, or a smart stack to automatically notify friends or family when you’ve reached your destination, reached a specific time, or completed your workout.
  • Use Maps on Apple Watch to view custom walking and hiking routes downloaded to your iPhone and access turn-by-turn directions for your route, even when you’re offline.
  • View important ticket information, such as parking directions or show times, along with ticket updates in the Wallet app.
  • Scroll through any app, such as News, Mail, or Weather, with a double-tap gesture (available on Apple Watch Series 9 and later and Apple Watch Ultra 2).
  • Send money with Tap to Cash by tapping your Apple Watch near the other person’s iPhone or Apple Watch (U.S. only). Available on Apple Watch Series 7 and later, Apple Watch SE (2nd generation), and all Apple Watch Ultra models.
  • Unlock your doors with UWB home keys without having to bring your Apple Watch close to the lock. Available on Apple Watch models with UWB.
  • Browse personalized recommendations and discover new workouts and meditations with a simple navigation system that includes For You, Explore, Library, and Search. View your current gestational age and log symptoms you’re experiencing during your pregnancy with the cycle tracker when you log your pregnancy in the Health app on iPhone.
  • Access additional controls via the remote, including volume, power, Siri Hold-to-Talk, and more. Unfortunately, there are still no options like setting a specific ringtone for each contact or setting a ringtone from the iTunes Store.
  • The ability to set a default Apple Watch ringtone. There are eight different ringtones that users can choose from, including previous ones from the GPS and Cellular versions.
  • In addition to the ringtone, users can also change the notification sound for text messages, emails, calendar alerts, reminders, and regular notifications.
