From time to time, Kamaz surprises the world with something special. The list could be continued for a long time, but it shows the creativity of the engineers that they have already made a truck designed for bone-chilling cold, but they are also not ashamed of driverless vehicles.
A A manufacturer operating in Naberezhnye Chelny has pushed a hydrogen-cell medium-duty truck into the spotlight, reported the Polish etransport.pl. The novelty bears the name KAMAZ-53193, but its powertrain is much more exciting than its name. The novelty was designed to carry a load of 20 tonnes and basically for distribution transport. AFK Sistema also participated in the development of the novelty.
Although not too many details have been revealed about it for the time being, we already know that according to factory data, it can travel 400 kilometers on a single charge, while according to a news portal, it can travel 500 kilometers. Filling the hydrogen tanks – which are located in the chassis – then takes only 5-6 minutes. In principle, the hydrogen cell is a Russian development, at least it is certain that it was made in Russia. It is likely that it was produced with the same Rusnano hydrogen cell, which was used for the first fuel cell Kamaz bus in 2022. However, according to the plans, I would like to further increase the range of the vehicle in the future.
The novelty will not gather dust in the warehouse are plannedthat they will go on a national test tour with it. The experience gained in this way is used and incorporated into series-produced models.
It is important to note that this is not the first hydrogen-powered Kamaz. Previously, together with the Franco-Swiss GreenGT, they pulled the cover off a 44-ton hydrogen cell tractor unit. In principle, you could travel 500 kilometers with it on a single charge.
