Wave’s Imprint: An International Cinematic Experiment

We are pleased to announce the release of the film Waves Imprintan international production coordinated by the VAR Association, made between July and October 2024.

The film brings together 18 young people from Romania, Belgium, England, Turkey, Iran, the Republic of Moldova, Croatia and the Philippines, each bringing a unique perspective on everyday life. They explored familiar paths, reinterpreting common everyday details in an artistic and deeply personal way.

The results of the collaboration have overcome geographical, linguistic and cultural barriers, bringing together diverse visions in an authentic story that highlights the imagination, originality, playful spirit, curiosity and inventiveness of the participants.

Filming in Romania took place in Arieseni, Alba county (Romania), in a creative camp, where young people built scenes starting from improvisation exercises and discussions facilitated by the project team and the professionals involved.

At the same time, the participants from abroad worked remotely for three months, being guided weekly by e-mails that offered them artistic challenges to encourage them to freely express their ideas and explore new ways of experiencing visually and narrative.

This production celebrates cultural diversity and unity through art, demonstrating the ability of young people to build connections between different worlds.

The premiere will take place in Bucharest, on November 2, at the Comedy Theatre, Sala Nouă, Sf. Vineri street no. 11, and starting November 3, the film will be available online.

Also during the event on November 2, a collective exhibition will take place, where a selection of the works exhibited in the virtual gallery, in August, will be presented. At the end of the event, the participants will be able to choose one of the exhibited works, which they will receive as a gift, a special memory of this artistic experience.

Wave’s Imprint is an international initiative dedicated to promoting the creative potential of hearing impaired young people with cochlear implants.
