“Yesterday’s election result is a clear and strong signal from the electorate to the entire political class. It’s a lesson learned! The traditional parties have the duty to understand the citizens, to reform and to work for the country to prosper”, Nicolae Ciucă wrote on Facebook.
He also said that liberals are aware “that there have been mistakes, but nevertheless, we cannot ignore the important achievements of recent years and we must show this to everyone. Investments from European money have raised the standard of living of many communities. These days, the stakes for Romania are enormous. We need to get closer to the citizens, communicate and, above all, really listen to them.”
In this context, Nicolae Ciucă wrote that he will give in to “people’s need and desire for change, but two things must remain fixed: our Euro-Atlantic option and the protection of what we, the Romanians, are! We have heard the message sent by the citizens, we have learned the lessons that have been offered to us and we will act accordingly”.
