If not long ago we furnished our homes minimalistically and only in white, colors and patterns are returning more and more, and there is also more and more decor. All in all, however, began to tend towards authentic domesticity.
Colors are returning to homes. No more sterile white walls, but earthy colors and well-thought-out color combinations, which are picturesquely complemented by furniture, upholstered furniture, and decor that provides the finishing touch. Also, primitive wood, or at least the appearance of it, is returning to homes. Sterile white tones and shine are slowly receding, natural shapes, natural materials and the look of nature are gaining more and more emphasis, which can be included either in wall coverings, decorative dishes, lights, furniture…
Still vintage and retro
Modern home decorators like to turn to the past. Homeliness, authenticity and well-being are important. They want to conjure up a sense of peace and nature in homes. Therefore, turn to your grandparents or to nature for decor. Decorate your home with simple objects. It doesn’t matter if they are a little dirty and discolored. Rework them, update them, change them or just train them. Old radios are modern, of course with modern components, pink cups with prints and gold trim are back. It will not be wrong to place a baroque dinner service or enameled plates on the table.
Flowers
We also return to flowers, which should be the decoration of almost every home. We tend towards seasonal and meadow flowers that we place in homes. You can also decorate your home with dry flowers. During this time, you can introduce lavender, which blooms and smells richly, into your home, and you can also enrich the bouquets with an ear of grain. The flowers of ornamental grasses and rushes are also popular.
Rounded shapes
Curved shapes are a trend that will definitely stick around for a few years. Rounded shapes soften all the strict lines of our homes and make the space more warm and homely. It doesn’t matter whether you choose a kitchen counter with rounded edges or a round mirror, even the smallest curve will round off your interior nicely. Replace the bathroom mirror with a round one, place a round rug, your rectangular living room will certainly be happy with some round pillows.
