We entered the Temple of Honor. It stands at the most desirable Chinese address

Last week, our editors had the opportunity to visit China for the expected flagship phone Honor Magic 7 Pro. In addition, the Honor brand let us take a look at the production of its mobile phones and we also visited its flagship store, i.e. the Flagship Store. And there was definitely something to see.

In China, brick-and-mortar stores are loved

While in our country we are used to buying mobile phones mainly online, from internet sellers, in China the habits are a little different and large, brick-and-mortar stores here have almost all local brands. It’s a kind of prestige for them, and it’s certainly a more interesting way of shopping than anonymously adding items to the cart. Visiting the Honor Flagship Store was definitely an experience.

The store itself is located in the province of Sichuan, in the city of Chengdu with more than 21 million inhabitants. It is the sixth largest city in China with a very high standard of living and at the same time it is one of the most important economic centers of the whole country. In this city, you will find large brick-and-mortar stores of practically all major mobile manufacturers.

A stylish shop with a historical touch

The Honor Flagship Store in Chengdu is really big, covering an area of ​​1000 square meters and located in the historical part of the city known as Kuanzhai Alley, which is one of the best locations in the city. The exterior design fits into the historical part of the city and the store was designed to fit perfectly into the realities of this area.

Traditional, historical elements are also found in the interior, which is dominated by a large space with a water surface, which creates a pleasant feeling of peace, cleanliness and a relaxed atmosphere. Inside the store, you can see traditional wooden elements and decorations corresponding to the history and legacy of China, including stylish sculptures that also serve as holders for the phones on display.

Stylish and most importantly, very cheap

In the Honor Flagship Store, you can buy phones in style, and the purchase itself becomes a real experience thanks to the pleasant environment. And at the same time you will also buy very cheaply, much cheaper than here and generally elsewhere in the world. Phones here are easily a third or more cheaper than in other markets, and this does not only apply to Honor, but in general to all local manufacturers. How is that possible?

One of the reasons is a significant saving in transport costs, as these phones are manufactured directly in China and travel as much as possible within the country. Lower taxes and no customs duties, which all phones imported into the EU of course face, also play a big role in the lower price. Another aspect is the already mentioned sale through brick-and-mortar stores and not distributors, who will understandably bump up the price.

Honor Magic 7 Pro for a few bucks

In the Chinese brick-and-mortar store, Honor’s current flagship, the Magic 7 Pro model, was already available, and the manufacturer claimed 5,699 yuan for the basic version, i.e. some 18,890 crowns without VAT. How much this new product will cost in our country remains to be seen, however, the previous Magic 6 Pro model in the country started at 30,990 crowns, and it is not very likely that the new version would be cheaper.
