A teacher who has been teaching at the high school of Alimos for many years, who even ran for municipal councilor in the last elections, is the 52-year-old who was arrested for lewd acts against a 14-year-old student of his.
As it emerged from the data collected by the police authorities, the teacher from Alimos exchanged messages with the minor for about three months, urging her to engage in sexual activities between them.
In fact, the professor managed to find the 14-year-old in his car in Ilioupoli on New Year’s Eve and proceed to grope, touch and kiss the girl’s disputed parts of the body.
The parents of the 14-year-old, however, quickly realized that something was wrong with their child and after talking to him, they then contacted the police.
Yesterday, Tuesday (07.01.25), the ELAS men handcuffed the teacher, who is now facing the charges of abusing a minor while being watched by a teacher and insulting sexual dignity.
“We had a relationship, I love him”
The 52-year-old, who in the 2023 local government elections was a candidate for councilor in the Municipality of Attica, during the preliminary investigation told the police that “we only had a platonic relationship with the student…”, however, he failed to justify the messages of a sexual nature he was sending her.
For her part, the 14-year-old shocked the psychologists of the Greek police, as she told them: “We had a relationship with the 52-year-old… I love him…”.
Parents, students and residents of the Alimos area have dealt with the 52-year-old teacher many times, as others have witnessed his strange behavior and others have been informed about it.
“He hated boys, with girls he was different”
A former student of the 52-year-old teacher who was arrested speaks to newsit.gr about the different treatment he has towards boys compared to girls.
In fact, he claims that the teacher had a particular preference for beautiful students, whom he… rewarded with higher grades.
“I had him as a teacher and he taught us geography. He had asked us to call him Jimmy or Mitso because he wanted a younger name, to be closer to the children. In his class there was a tyrannical regime for the boys. He hated us when we weren’t allowed to make mistakes and yelled at us. It was played by a tough teacher and authority figure, just like in the old days because he thought that was the only way boys learned.
With girls he was different. He told them it was okay to make mistakes and befriended them. I was shaking when the grades came out from the tests and exams, because I was sure I had failed. Only the girls got high marks.
In class he only talked to the girls and I could see that he had special attitudes towards the girls,” his former student tells newsit.gr and continues adding:
“I remember him asking the kids to follow him on Facebook, while all the other teachers we had were telling us not to follow them until they finished school. This was the normal thing for a teacher to say to his student, while he pushed the children to the opposite.
We had a classmate doll, very beautiful, we all looked at her and he always came close to her and kept her inside the class even when the bell rang. In fact, during the last exam, he kept her in the room for an entire hour.
When she came out, the girl had told us that she had done badly and when the results were announced, she had done very well. Someone must have had their hand in it. A very beautiful girl but she was not gifted academically, how she did so well I don’t know.”
“Everyone has taken him for granted”
A person from the school environment of the Alimos high school speaking to newsit.gr reports that during all these years that he has been teaching in this particular area of the southern suburbs, he has often given rise to negative comments with his behavior. “Too much has been heard about this man.
Most of the kids have taken him for granted that he’s having a good time and that he’s a little weird around little girls. This has been happening for many years and it has been heard from the girls that he looks at them amorously, especially when they are wearing a skirt. However, we had never heard of her carrying a child. This is a man who likes to be flattered by children. The children have understood him and have taken him to task. His last name is not something we hide in Alimos, when someone says to send their child to this school, everyone says to watch out for this teacher.”
“He treated the children badly and they vomited”
At the same time, another witness told newsit.gr: “He treated the children badly and they vomited. Everyone here has known for 10 years. There are also papers from psychologists that the children went to. If you ask the principal, he will tell you about the lawsuits he has filed against parents. Seven years ago, we went to the secondary court for his issue.”
“Charlie’s Angels”
However, his comments and posts on Social Media make an impression. In most of the school photos he is pictured alone with his female students, while in teasing by his friends and students, which also contain some insinuations, he does not hesitate to give answers that are not consistent with his professional status, but also with the fact that he is talking about minors his children and students.
A typical example is a photo in which he is surrounded by four female students.
There, after mentioning that he is a happy man, he then writes: “I didn’t understand anything at all! Me in the photo feels happy to be surrounded by four adorable creatures!’
A little below in another comment, the 52-year-old adds: “Yes, like Charlie and his Angels! Except I have four! But believe me my darling, even if you were such “girly” as you say, the love you show on your faces is enough for me, because it is real”.
The professor, who was given a deadline to apologize on Friday, was prosecuted for the abuse of a minor with disabilities who has reached the age of 14 by a teacher and insulting the sexual dignity of a minor under the age of 15 via the Internet.
