The US president-elect, Donald Trump, confirmed the agreement between Israel and Hamas for a cease-fire in Gaza.
“We have an agreement on hostages in the Middle East. They will be released soon,” Donald Trump wrote on TruthSocial about the Gaza ceasefire.
In a second post, Donald Trump emphasizes:
“This epic cease-fire agreement could only happen as a result of our historic victory in November, as it signaled to the entire world that my Administration will pursue Peace and negotiate agreements to ensure the safety of all Americans and Our allies. I am thrilled that the American and Israeli hostages will return home to be reunited with their families and loved ones.
With this agreement in place, the National Security team, through the efforts of Special Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff, will continue to work closely with Israel and our Allies to ensure that Gaza is NEVER again a safe haven for terrorists. We will continue to promote PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH throughout the region as we leverage the momentum of this ceasefire to further expand the historic Abrahamic Accords. This is just the beginning of great things to come for America, and indeed, the World!
We have accomplished so much without even being in the White House. Just imagine all the wonderful things that will happen when I return to the White House and my administration is fully confirmed so it can secure more Victories for the United States.”
