we have seen the 10 biggest new products that will shake up the market

Eicma is one of the largest exhibitions in the world dedicated to the world of two wheels. We went there to discover the new electric scooters and motorcycles. Here is our selection of 10 new electric two-wheelers not to be missed.

Honda EV Urban Concept

The Milan motorcycle show Eicma has just closed its doors, marked by a record attendance of 600,000 visitors. The opportunity to look back at our 10 favorite electric scooters and motorcycles. We already carried out the exercise last year, and we’ll let you take a look at the dedicated article.

Zero Motorcycle expands its range

The American brand that we readily compare to the equivalent of Tesla on two wheels is taking advantage of the Italian show to present the delightful Neutrino concept and two small all-terrain leisure motorcycles intended for production: the XB and XE.

Zero Neutrino Concept

The Neutrino Concept, first of all, foreshadows what could be the equivalent of a “Monkey” electric version with large, low-profile balloon tires and a 5.9 kWh battery. While waiting for the brand to dare to go further and look more towards maxiscooters, Zero is extending its range with two new machines: the 50 cm3 equivalent XB limited to 45 km/h with a 2.4 kWh battery offering good acceleration for learn off-roading from the age of 14.

For older children aged 16 and over, an XE A1 license version with a 4.3 kWh battery offers performance equivalent to a 125 cc enduro. “We will organize tests as soon as a supermoto kit is available to allow road approval”, traffic Sam Paschel le PDG.

The definitive Can Am Pulse and Origin

After a discreet appearance in 2023, on the sidelines of the Eicma show during an evening in a bar in Milan, the motorcycle brand of the Canadian group BRP is offering a real stand this year with its brand new machine built around a set engine battery which serves as a chassis for the bike.

Designed by the Rotax subsidiary, the 35 kW (47 hp) motor is powered by an 8.9 kWh battery for an announced range of 160 km (100 miles) and a speed limited to 130 km/h at peak.

But it is above all through the seductive design that the Canadian motorcycle impresses, like an electric Husqvarna with its angular bodywork by Alain Massicotte, the in-house designer with the delicious accent. “Besidesshooting the same cycle part, we offer different naked versions (the Pulse) or a more adventurous one (the Origin) depending on the accessories, windshield and luggage”.

Starting price of 17,000 euros available at all Can Am dealers in France and Europe, already distributors of the Spyder 3-wheeler, Outlander quads and SSV Maverick all-terrain buggies.

Honda Concept EV Fun et EV Urban

The world’s leading motorcycle manufacturer couldn’t stay out of the electric field for long. In addition to the small chubby Cuv E scooter, 50 cm3 equivalent with a removable battery, Honda is unveiling two enticing machines in Milan, the EV Fun and EV Urban concepts.

Honda EV Fun Concept

Two variations around the same platform, one with a naked roadster look with sharp edges, and the other like a maxi urban scooter. The Japanese brand is not yet revealing any technical details apart from a range of around a hundred kilometers and the principle of a fixed battery integrated into the fast-charging chassis with CCS2 standards compatible with automobile standards. Other information leaked from the lips: the EV Fun motorcycle should be marketed first in 2025. We can’t wait.

KTM nouvelle enduro Freeride E

The technical sheet of this KTM Freeride E honors the orange brand which exhibited its silent enduro motorcycle in front of an exploded view of the battery detachable from the aluminum frame of the bike: 11 kW (15 hp) and up to 19.2 kW ( 26 hp peak) for a torque of 37 Nm and a maximum speed of 95 km/h.

Advantage: when the rider reaches the end of the 5.5 kWh capacity and if he still has the strength after 2 to 3 hours of enduro, it would be possible for him to slip in a charged battery without waiting for the 8 hours of standard charging or an hour and a half on a 3.3 kW charger. This battery would only weigh 29 kg out of a total of 112 kg for the entire machine thanks to the massive use of aluminum.

Proof that the Austrian manufacturer has hit the nail on the head, the permanent parade of engineers from other brands who have come to photograph it from every angle shows this motorcycle which will soon be marketed, is a source of envy.

Royal Enfield the steering wheel

The Anglo Indian brand presents the flying flea, the nickname of the motorcycle given by the English soldiers who parachute the machine with its pilot to ensure reconnaissance in enemy terrain. Which explains the parachute on the Royal Enfield stand and a good way to get people talking about the very next electrical project.

We remember that an Electric Himalayan caught our eye at the 2023 Motor Show, “simple practical exercise to test technical solutions” explained the manufacturer at the time, the new small electrical chips on the stand show that Royal Enfield is making progress on its project.

Confirmation with Franck Aubert, newly appointed head of the electrical range for France: “nWe are almost ready and we will present during the year 2025 the final version of this urban motorcycle with an explosive look”. Hoping that it retains its original parallelogram suspension and its mini chopper shape. To be continued, therefore.

Suzuki Burgman Hydrogen

Suzuki does not yet have an electric two-wheeler in its range but is not stopping itself from blazing a new trail. Among the avenues explored, the Burgman HySE maxi Scooter concept powered by hydrogen. Rather than injecting super unleaded, the heat engine is driven by pure hydrogen stored under pressure.

Suzuki Burgman Hydrogen

Advantage: the combustion of 1 kg of gas releases approximately 3 times more energy than 1 kg of gasoline and only water comes out of the exhaust. Disadvantage: the high-pressure gas cylinder is housed between the driver’s legs, which lengthens the wheelbase.

DAB 1α: the 100% French electric motorcycle

Cocorico, the French manufacturer DAB Motors, a subsidiary of Peugeot Motocycles, is exhibiting its DAB 1 production model at the EICMA show in Milan in a world premiereadirectly derived from the “Concept-E” prototype presented in 2021. Having just entered production in the French Peugeot Motocycles factory in Beaulieu-Mandeure, this pretty bike whose price starts at 14,900 euros shines with its sharp dynamic look while completely in the canons of the moment.

DAB Motors

Technically, the French car is largely up to date with a power of 11 kW (15 hp) – and even up to 25 kW (35 hp) at peak -, a maximum speed of 130 km/h and a generous torque of 395 Nm. Enough to offer responsive driving with a range of 150 km thanks to the 7.1 kWh battery manufactured in Haute-Savoie.

For the special launch series limited to 400 copies, this 125cc equivalent French bike is adorned with a hand-sewn Alcantara saddle, recycled forged carbon parts of Airbus origin, and a numbered plaque for each of the first 400 copies .

Kymco RevoNEX: the electric motorcycle at speed

On the stand of the Taiwanese Kymco, as a birthday present for the sixty years of the brand, was a sublime concept of a café racer with its red bubble above the headlight. This style exercise, third in the RevoNEX series after the 2018 then 2022 versions, arrives in a context of strengthened rapprochement with the American manufacturer LiveWire.

It was even the boss of LiveWire Karim Donna in person who announced during the press conference the construction of a future electric MaxiScooter, which should see the light of day in the first half of 2026 and sketches of which were released on this occasion. .

In the same vein, we imagine that an evolution of the American engine of the S2 Delmar of 30 kW/40 hp (63 kW/80 hp peak) with its ribbed battery could very well be found in a motorcycle chassis with its measure like this sublime RevoNEX too attractive to remain only at the concept stage. Note the left foot gear selector designed to offer unparalleled driving sensations on an electric motorcycle.

Lambretta Elettra in progress

Regional of the stage, the Milanese brand Lambretta, eternal competitor of Vespa presented a completed model of its future electric scooter Elettra appearing in 2023.

With its timeless design recognizable by its hexagonal headlight surrounded by chrome, the machine was revealed on a small platform.

Indeed, the Elettra prototype hid nothing of its underside with its hood completely raised. For what ? To show the 4 kW (5.5 hp) and 11 kW (15 hp) peak engine capable of propelling this scoot up to 110 km/h. The brand claims 127 km of autonomy with a light wrist, and rapid recharging up to 80% in 36 minutes with a dedicated charger.

Niu Quad NV 1000e

The Chinese brand not only celebrated its tenth anniversary at the Eicma show in Milan, but also took the opportunity to unveil a whole new category of machines: Quad or ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) but while respecting the 100% electric DNA of the brand. .

Called Niu NV 1000, the large quad immediately impresses with its cubic silhouette and its 1.2 mm thick stainless steel body and its front LED bar as headlights. This rather utilitarian machine has a towing hook at the rear, a winch at the front, 4-wheel drive and a 10 kWh battery.

Advantage of electric, the torque available immediately and above all the silence of use, a good point for respecting nature. The brand is waiting for the reaction of the public and professionals before launching production, we are 100% for it.
