The president of AUR, George Simion, presidential candidate, said on Saturday, October 12, during the “AUR for Oltenia” event, that Romanians must understand that his party is the tool they can use “to bring down a system corrupt”.

More than 1,500 AUR members and sympathizers participated in the event that took place at the Students’ House of Culture in Craiova, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES.

“There are 43 days until the elections. 43 days in which we have to prove to the Romanians that we are with them not only with words, as most politicians have been accustomed to for the last 34 years, but with concrete facts. With actions like those in Pechea, where our colleagues have been working non-stop for several weeks to ensure that entire families of Romanians affected by the floods will not be left without a roof over their heads this winter. Door to door, street to street, town to town, the Romanians they must understand that we fight for them, that AUR is the tool they can use to bring down this corrupt system we have come to live in. (…) We really work for the Romanians, while Ciucă, Marcel, Lasconi or Orban work ceaselessly for all interests foreign to our country,” said George Simion, in his speech.

According to him, the only way that AUR can win the electoral battle is through direct contact with Romanians.

“It is necessary for AUR and not PSD to be the first in the Romanian vote: from Olt to Gorj and to Vâlcea and to Dolj and to Mehedinţi! The only way we will win this battle is through direct contact with the Romanians,” George SimioN said.

In Craiova, Claudiu Tîrziu, the president of the National Leadership Council of the AUR, announced that he has taken over the coordination of the electoral campaign for the parliamentary elections, emphasizing the importance of the current moment for the future of the party and the country.

At the end of the event to present the candidates for Oltenia, AUR members and sympathizers started a march through the streets of Craiova to the “Marin Sorescu” National Theater
