The performance in Podujevo was far from ideal, but the most important thing is that Budućnost still has everything in their hands and that on Thursday from 9 pm in front of their fans they will have the opportunity to make things right.

The biggest Montenegrin football club is preparing for the return match of the first round of qualification for the League of Conferences, in which they will try to erase the victory of Mališev (1:0) from the first duel.

“We will be better, all of us – I am convinced of that,” said Ilya Serikov, the Russian defender in the blue and white jersey. “We know that we can only win – and that with a two-goal difference, so there are no other calculations. I believe that we will pass”.

The former Arsenal player from Tula, Sochi, Šinjik and other clubs promises to rush from the referee’s first whistle.

“We will attack the triumph from the start, we will have a huge desire to reach it, because I don’t see a way that any of us can run out onto the field without a motive,” Serikov is clear.

He turned to another game in Kosovo…

“The first match brought a cautious game from both sides, which was somewhat expected – both the opponent and we knew that there is a second match in which the decision will be made as to who goes on”.

And, the decision falls before the fans of Buducnosti.

“Fortunately, we are playing the second leg at home, we have an active result and we will do everything to get through to the 2nd round of the qualifiers,” emphasized the Russian international.

He also knows what his teammates and he have to improve compared to the first 90 minutes.

“I think that in the first game we had more good moments than the opponent, especially in the first half, but we didn’t feel like scoring a goal. We know where we made mistakes, what needs to be better, and frankly, in our stadium and in front of our fans, we need to to be more aggressive, to put the opponent under pressure and to attack him”.

Serikov also believes that the roar from the stands will be the trump card of the “blues”.

“I know that Buducnost has great fans and that they are the 12th player of the team. I am sure that we will feel their energy and that they will push us forward. We owe them, just like us and the whole club, a better performance and hope for a pass”, he concluded is Serikov.
