Saturday’s match between Spartak Trnava and Slovan Bratislava promises great drama on and off the pitch.
The meeting of the third with the second is traditionally accompanied by reactions from both camps. Home coach Michal Gašparík came up with a surprise.
The Spartak helmsman also caught rumors about the end of Vladimír Weiss Jr.’s career.
The Slovan captain did not confirm him. With a pinch of humor, it can be said that except for him, almost everyone has already commented on the possible end…
Teammates, father Vladimír Weiss Sr., CEO of Slovan Ivan Kmotrík Jr. or even Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.
It is questionable whether the leader of the white team will take part in the Anton Malatinský Stadium on Saturday at 18.00 and help his team in the derby.
Gašparík admitted that as a young coach he could have imagined such a reinforcement in the Trnava cabin.
“I didn’t have to have him on the field, but I would still like to have him in the team because he is an excellent football player.
He’s a great guy, and a bit of a provocateur, which you need to have in your team. We had one home derby that we literally went after him.” admitted Gašparík for MY Trnava.
Each trainer must use all available weapons in the fight against the rival. Gašparík had Weiss Jr. clear strategy.
“We wanted to provoke him and deliberately fouled him. We knew that if we derail Vlad and he doesn’t focus only on the game, his performance will go down, which will be our advantage,” added Gašparík.
