“We started excellently, but then we got complacent and let the opponent play, which happens to us often in the league. Then we showed very good things, but at 3:1 I have to break the game so that it doesn’t become a drama.
Even in the past, we struggled until the last minute in Skalica, which I emphasized to the players. The home team played well, they fought,” began the assessment of Weiss Sr., who was quoted by the official website of the Whites.
The match was decided with two goals by Dávid Strelec, who also scored a goal for Tigran Barseghjan.
“David Strelec had a period when he did not score goals, but I told him that today he will score at least two if he is calm and strong on the ball. He played excellently even without the ball, also Tigran, currently the best player in the league, who gives himself to the match,” praised the Slovan coach.
He also spoke positively about other supports.
“There were a lot of good performances, in the middle I was satisfied with the duo Ignatenko – Savvidis, at the back Kašia and Bajrič did an excellent job. Due to injuries, we have a limited bench, which is felt,” Weiss began with criticism.
“Those who come from the bench must present themselves better, because ten or twelve cannot do to others. I am satisfied with the approach and performance, we won and we are in contact with Žilina.
We still have a game to go. The fight for the champion will be interesting, in three days we play in Podbrezová and then we have another celebration of football,” concludes Weiss.
