Well-known streamer gets in trouble with Nintendo for breaking rules

A relentless legal battle has erupted between Nintendo and streamer Jesse Keighin, known online as EveryGameGuru. The Japanese gaming giant has always taken a strict stance on piracy and copyright infringement, and now it’s accusing this person for persistent alleged piracy and streaming of unreleased games and promoting emulators on the Switch console.

Keighin reportedly mocked Nintendo’s efforts by creating new accounts every time a profile was removed, and apparently ignored the company’s notices. According to the lawsuit, he once bragged about having “a thousand channels to promote material” and his ability to “do this all day long.” Beyond simple streaming, he directed his audience to emulators like Ryujinx and Yuzuwhich allow users to play Switch games without Nintendo hardware. These emulators had been removed from platforms such as GitHub following previous takedown requests. Clearly, this didn’t sit well with Nintendo.

As Nintendo stated, Keighin’s actions jeopardized its marketing strategies. On several occasions, he allegedly aired unreleased titles, including of Mario & Luigi: Brothership. These early leaks, according to Nintendo, confused the public with the release of their games.
