The youtuber TheGrefg has raffled off his Tesla Model S Plaid customized as Lightning McQueen. He has done it through a raffle with which he acknowledges having won money.
The winner of the car is a fan who only spent 4 euros to participate in the raffle. Since he does not have a driving license, TheGrefd has offered him to keep the car for the money it would cost right now based on its current value. He has taken out 380.000 euros with the sale of shares for the raffle.
Each entry in the raffle cost €1.
It is complicated that in the middle of 2025 you do not know TheGrefga Spanish youtuber who lives in Andorra, borders on 19 million subscribers on YouTube and has uploaded more than 4,000 videos to this platform since 2012.
With such figures, it has been a long time since TheGrefg, who is really called David Cánovas and is barely 27 years old, stopped being exclusively a YouTuber to also become a businessman. In addition to his channel, he has other projects, such as writing and publishing books, a real estate company or the Esland Awards, which recognize the creation of streaming content from the Spanish-speaking community.
Last minute. Luck.

Logically, TheGrefg does some deals better than others, that’s the business world, and the latest one he has done has been especially good. Basically just take out 380.000 euros for a Tesla Model S Plaid that was purchased in May 2022 for 168,070 euros.
At the time, TheGrefg promised buy a second-generation Tesla Roadster if one of his videos reached 200,000 likes. It met its goal (it surpassed the million in a matter of hours), but Tesla delayed production of the Roadster and it was not on sale at that time (several years later it still hasn’t arrived), so David, tired of waiting, bought another Tesla , the Model S Plaid.
Specifically, the unit he chose was a 1,020 HP Tesla Model S Plaid+ loaded with extras that was not cheap at all. Over time, TheGrefd personalized his car by dressing it in the Lightning McQueen colorsthe character from the ‘Cars’ movie saga, but the day came when he decided to get rid of his electric sedan.
Grefg shows that he has sold 380,000.
“wallpapers” at €1, thanks to the giveaway for his Tesla Model S Plaid: “Obviously there has been a benefit. It is money that will surely be invested in the Cybertruck, Roadster, etc.” pic.twitter.com/bEiEQBp5kn— Terreno Viral (@terrenoviral) January 7, 2025
The chosen method was a raffle, which RAE defined as “a game that consists of raffle something between several people”, although there was controversy in case it was a raffle or a raffle. The operation was simple: TheGrefg put it up for sale ‘wallpapers’ (ballots) for 1 euro on a website created specifically for the raffle and each one was a participation in the raffle. The more wallpapers someone bought, the more likely they were to get the Tesla Model S Plaid.
Since TheGrefg has so many followers, the logical thing is that a lot of wallpapers were sold and so it was: it sold 380,000 shares (it actually says a few hundred more, but round up). Since each one cost 1 euro, David raised 380,000 euros. There are people who spent almost 4,000 euros on participations and others who only bought a ‘wallpaper’.
A follower who had bought four wallpapers and, therefore, only spent 4 euros, was the winner. A few hours ago, TheGrefg uploaded a video to his channel to introduce this follower and tell how the raffle was and the delivery of the car to the winner.
“Obviously, there has been a benefit, there has also been a large expense around doing this, and nothing, it is a series with the Tesla that will continue and it is money that will surely be invested in Cybertruck, Roadster, etc. ‘What a bastard you are, you’ve made money from this.’ Well, yes, I have made money, there are projects that turn out better and you make money, and there are others that make you miserable,” said TheGrefg.
In the same videoTheGrefg shows that the draw has been before a notary and gives the car to his follower, a 24-year-old girl who lives in Barcelona, has a 3-month-old daughter and… does not have a driving license (she says she has suspended 15 times the practical), so TheGrefg gives you the option to keep the car or the moneywhich would be the value that the car currently has, according to David, 75,000 euros: “the vehicle, now second-hand, is valued without VAT at about 75,000 euros.”
He doesn’t reveal what his decision is, but whatever it is, he gives it a winning lap to show what the car is capable of. The most likely thing, as it seems in the video, is that he chooses money. If David pays this follower the current value of the car, that is, about 75,000 euros, and he has obtained 380,000 euros with the tickets, he has won 305,000 euros with the play. And he also keeps the car.
It has been beautiful. A mother who had her daughter 3 months ago and it is going to be brutal financially. Also spending €4. Incredible. https://t.co/HY74e8doQX

As David says, he will “probably” use that money to “continue the series” and do the same with the Cybertruck or the Roadster (assuming the latter sees the light of day), so we will have to see if he is able to repeat the play with those cars.
From that money, however, we would have to subtract what it cost to organize and carry out the raffle, including the notary. What you shouldn’t do is pay taxes because it is something that, in theory, corresponds to the winner.
