Here is our selection of 43-inch TVs: although there aren’t many left, there are still some interesting options for fans of small televisions!
Best Small 43-Inch 4K TVs in 2024
While 55 and 65-inch televisions are now the norm, you don’t always have the space to fit one in your living room. You may also prefer smaller screens for a secondary television. More simply, you can look for something discreet that doesn’t clash with your interior with its cleverly designed decoration. For this, a small 42 or 43-inch TV (i.e. a diagonal of 109 cm) is ideal.
The fact remains that 43-inch Smart TVs are now a little further behind on the television market. High-end models such as LG TVs avoid this type of size. If you are looking for the best technologies, you will therefore have to move up to the next format. However, this is the ideal size for buying a cheap TV.
So here we have selected the rare small 42 or 43 inch TV models that have caught our attention. We also advise you to take a look at our TV comparator by filtering by size.
And to see all the best TVs on the market, it’s here.
If you are looking for something bigger, you can also check out our guides for other diagonals:

Samsung The Frame 2023: the small designer TV
Sold for around 1,000 euros, the 43-inch Samsung The Frame QLED 2023 is one of the few slightly ambitious models in this diagonal. The Frame series has a very particular design, the TV being designed to look like a painting. The frame is very thin and you can even order it in wood. A particularly effective anti-reflective coating has been added this year. The “work of art” display is therefore much more natural than before.
Add to that the Art mode that allows you to display works of art, and you certainly have the most discreet TV on the market. Although it is primarily designed to be hung on the wall, it still comes with feet to place it on a piece of furniture. Note that it comes with the One Connect box that allows you to move the TV’s connections. In addition, a motion sensor detects your presence and turns on the screen when you are not in the room.
From a purely technical point of view, we are in the presence of a mid-range QLED panel. The image is therefore quite dim (the peak light reaches 630 cd/m2), but the contrasts are rather good.
The panel is compatible with HDR10+. On the voice assistant side, compatibility is ensured with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Bixby. On the gaming side, the new The Frame model does well, thanks to a 120 Hz HDMI input, ALLM and FreeSync Premium Pro.
The fact remains that Samsung has increased prices compared to last year: design comes at a price…

The Chinese brand TCL is one of the few that still releases 43-inch TVs on the market. In this case, the C735 is presented as a QLED TV with very good skills for both watching movies and playing video games.
This is achieved through good connectivity, since it has a USB 2.0 socket, two HDMI 2.1 inputs and two other HDMI 2.0 and finally an Ethernet port. For the gaming part, the TCL C735 integrates in Game mode a input lag of 13.2 ms. Above all, the latter supports VRR and ALLM to offer a pleasant gaming experience.
The QLED panel also offers a beautiful quality image with an Ultra HD definition. The scaling is excellent without reaching the sharpness level of the best TVs on the market. Our measurements allowed us to record an average color temperature of 6728 K and a peak brightness of 357 cd/m2.
If you are looking for a good compact TV, the TCL C735 can be an interesting solution both for its versatility and its price. In its 43-inch version, the model is available at a price of 549 euros. To learn more, we advise you to read our TCL TV review.

A small exception in this guide, this TV model is 42 inches, and not 43. You will hardly see the difference with the eye. Like all the latest Sony TV models, this one benefits from Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR, which allows you to adapt contrasts in real time on an image. The latter is very effective and allows you to fully enjoy your video content.
The design is still particularly successful. What about gaming use? Sony does not hide its ambitions in this area, especially given the small size of this 42-inch TV. The Game mode, which activates automatically as soon as you turn on a PS5, is very well calibrated in terms of colors. The 42A90K will however convince gamers a little less on the side of theinput lagmeasured at 16.3ms in Ultra HD at 60fps, which is good, but not great.
On the audio side, the model is compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS. In terms of animation, it is a very efficient Google TV that is at the controls. In addition, the “Remote Finder” function to use with Google Assistant to find the remote control, if it may seem a bit gimmicky at first glance, is however very useful to avoid tearing your hair out looking for the remote control.
On the few negative points, we regret a maximum brightness (532 cd/m² in cinema mode) too low, as well as a high price, as is often the case with Sony.
You can learn more about this little TV by reading our review of the Sony 48A90K, which is the larger model, but is similar in every other way.

Its slightly light contrast
Do you have a very small budget? As is often the case, Xiaomi is where you can find a good deal. Having recently entered the TV world, the Chinese manufacturer is distributing a few models in France.
Despite its rock-bottom price, the latter offers a surprisingly neat design and thin edges. We’ve seen more neat finishes, but nothing shameful. This 43-inch version of the P1 has an IPS panel, while its 55-inch big sister has a VA panel. In practice, this means that the viewing angles are excellent, but the contrast is not glorious.
Xiaomi’s rendering processor, however, does a very respectable job in terms of upscaling non-4K content. We also appreciate the presence of Android TV, which works smoothly, which is not always the case on entry-level models.
Among our regrets, we will note that the support of HDMI 2.1 is more theoretical than anything else since the VRR is absent. We only have the right to eARC.
So while it may not be a landmark, this Mi TV P1 offers decent performance for a very small price. That’s all we ask of it and it does it well.
Samsung’s new line of TVs unveiled at CES 2022 is now available for purchase. This 43-inch model is the most affordable version of the range highlighted by the manufacturer. It introduces the new Quantum Matrix technology which, on paper, offers better backlighting.
On the compatibility menu, you are entitled to HDR10+ and HDR10+ Gaming. This will allow you to accompany you during your gaming sessions, but also to watch series and films.
It offers a 100 Hz refresh rate with a 4 K Ultra HD definition. As always, the TizenOS operating system is efficient in providing you with an optimal user experience. The connectivity is ensured with 4 HDMI ports compatible with 2.1. Enough to support the contribution of a new generation game console.
This 43-inch TV, priced at 1,390 euros, is a good investment if you want a small, high-quality interface.

The contrast of the scythe
Japanese manufacturer Sony remains a major name in the television market. If you are looking for a 43-inch model, discover the model that we are about to reveal to you.
A word first on the construction of the 43-inch TV. Like its Xiaomi counterpart, the thin edges and finish allow it to be placed anywhere in your home. The Sony KD-43X85J LCD panel offers good brightness and above all an excellent contrast ratio for its location. The 4K image quality with LED backlighting offers great performance.
All these technical features offer versatility at all times around this 43-inch TV. It is also good for gaming, movies or standard use.
In terms of connectivity, the presence of HDMI 2.1 is eARC compatible. You will count 4 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, but no VRR.
We will also regret the poor performance of the television in terms of viewing angles. It is better to watch it from the front.

Everything you need to know before buying your 43-inch television
Why a 43-inch TV?
43 inches is obviously a small diagonal size when you look at the most popular TVs of 2024 which offer screen diagonals of 55 and 65 inches. The 43-inch format is still interesting for equipping a bedroom or a kitchen, or a small living room. More discreet than a 55-inch TV, it will be able to blend in much more easily with the decor.
When choosing the size of your TV, a trick that usually works very well is the “4.5 centimeters per inch rule“. This indicates the minimum distance between you and the TV. For example on a 43-inch TV (4K), You need to be about 1.80 meters away from the screen. Closer, you will tire your eyes quickly, and further away, you will lose your ability to immerse yourself. But at this distance, you will have a good immersion in all the action of movies and video games. In any case, this is only an approximation and, ideally, each user should determine at what distance they feel most comfortable. On 4K UHD TVs, the definition is so high that it no longer really imposes restrictions, unless you put yourself a few centimeters from the screen…
Where are the 43 inch OLED TVs?
Good news, you will now find 42 or 43 inch OLED TVs. This is particularly the case for the LG OLED42C3an excellent 4K 120Hz model. You can also opt for QLED technology, with the model Samsung TQ43Q60Cwhich will be cheaper.
