What are the brand’s used family cars worth?

Models from the chevron brand are often financially attractive on second-hand sites. Here are the brand’s family models that are interesting second-hand.

Citroën C5 Aircross: a good choice

The C5 Aircross can rely on its comfort and modularity to stand out among compact SUVs. Good to know, its plug-in hybrid version uses a 1.6 gasoline engine that is infinitely more reliable than the other engines in the range.

  • The right choice: PHEV 225 ch ë-EAT8
  • Fuel : PHEV
  • Fiscal power: 10 ch
  • DIN power: 225 ch
  • Maximum speed: 225 km/h
  • Consumption : 7.7 l/100 km
  • Crit’Air : 1
  • Trunk volume: 522 dm³
  • Seen second hand: we saw a version Business of 2021 with 68 000 km on the meter at the price of 19 890 €.

In the shadow of his cousin, Peugeot 3008the C5 Aircross sees its prices drop more quickly. So much the better, because the most reliable version is expensive new. Capable of traveling 46 km on all electric power, the plug-in hybrid displays a moderate appetite once its batteries are empty. Another quality of its 1.6 petrol: its robustness. On board, the independent rear seats make life easier. And the trunk, certainly reduced by the presence of the batteries, remains of a good size. Used, there are a number of new Business versions reserved for professionals, at attractive prices (with reasonable mileage). A good choice, since they offer GPS, front/rear parking assistance and hands-free access.

Mixture of raised sedan, station wagon and SUV: the C5 X recipe does not seem to have won over the public. Available in gasoline or plug-in hybrid, always with the pleasant automatic gearbox. with 8 gears, it is displayed at 50% of its initial value after two years

  • The right choice: PHEV 225 ch ë-EAT8
  • Fuel : PHEV
  • Fiscal power: 16 CV
  • DIN power: 258 ch
  • Maximum speed: 233 km/h
  • Consumption : 8 l/100 km
  • Crit’Air : 1
  • Trunk volume: 445 dm³
  • Seen second hand: we saw a Feel Pack version of 2022 with 24 000 km on the meter at the price of 24 99 0 €.

We can find its line astonishing, especially from three quarter rear, and judge that its length of 4.81 m represents a handicap. Otherwise, the C5 X looks like a good hybrid deal. Because it benefits from more solid mechanics than the versions powered by the 1.2 PureTech. In addition, it can travel 39 km on electric power according to our lab (7 hours of charging on the mains and 2 hours on a Wallbox) and remains reasonable once its batteries are empty. Above all, it provides astonishing comfort. On board, the legroom in the rear is royal, but the elbow room is disappointing. A size that is felt behind the wheel, with behavior devoid of dynamism

Citroën Berlingo 3ᵉ generation: a sure value

Moving upmarket with each generation, the Berlingo presents itself as an alternative to SUVs while retaining its XXL loading volume. Expensive new and popular with buyers, it is one of the rare Citroën models to command high second-hand prices.

  • The right choice: 1.5 BlueHDi 100
  • Fuel : diesel
  • Fiscal power: 5 CV
  • DIN power: 100 ch
  • Maximum speed: 164 km/h
  • Consumption : 6.3 l/100 km
  • Crit’Air : 1
  • Trunk volume: 632 dm³
  • Seen second hand: we saw a version Feel of 2019 with 112 000 km on the meter at the price of 15 99 0 €.

It’s the star of MPVs. Increasingly comfortable and better equipped, the Berlingo “3” is a step above its ancestor. This increases the starting price for new, but also second-hand, and encourages people to target basic engines. Caution: the 1.2 petrol is not reliable enough, and the 1.5 diesel lacks pep at 75 hp. The BlueHDi 100 offers a better compromise, with intact sobriety and more lively responses under load. Barely more expensive than the Live, the Feel already has three retractable rear seats, hatches in the floor, roof bars and the Mirror Screen. We often find it enriched with a standard opening rear window, on the expensive Shine (€17,000 minimum).
