What do you think is the best innovation in Android 15?

Android 15 is out for Google Pixel smartphones and introduces all kinds of innovations. We are curious to know how our readers like them.

Android 15: this is what Android Planet readers like best

Android 15 will be available on October 15 for Google Pixel users with a Pixel 6 (Pro) or newer. Overall, it’s a modest update with several minor improvements. While a new Android version previously felt like a completely new operating system, for some this is disappointing with Android 15.

Maybe you like to multitask and make full use of app pairs to easily use two apps on top of each other. Or are you more of a fan of the subtle design changes, such as the new weather widget, the larger biometrics screen and the new volume controls. Let us know in the poll below.

Android 15 in? This is how you install it yourself

Android 15 will gradually roll out to supported smartphones in the first few months. Your smartphone will notify you when the latest version of Android is available. Did you miss that one? Then you can also manually check for updates. To do this, follow the following steps:

  1. Open the settings app on your smartphone;
  2. Scroll down and click on ‘System’;
  3. Select ‘System update’ to check whether an update is ready;
  4. If so, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the update. If not: please be patient a little longer.

Always make a good backup of your Android smartphone before installing the new software. If your phone freezes or fails for whatever reason, it may not function fully afterwards.

That chance is small, but it does require a reset to factory settings, after which you use the backup to put your data back on your phone.
