What Fakhrul said about BNP Standing Committee leaders’ discussion with Khaleda Zia

BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia is going abroad on January 7 (Tuesday) for better treatment.

Secretary General of the party Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir confirmed this information after a meeting with the BNP Chairperson in Gulshan at around 9:30 pm on Sunday.

Before this, the members of the committee went to Begum Zia’s residence Feroza in Gulshan of the capital around 8:00 p.m.

Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘Uncompromising leader of democracy, the most beloved leader of the people, uncompromising on the question of sovereignty and democracy. He is going abroad on the night of January 7 for better treatment. That is why the National Standing Members have come to bid farewell to her (Khaleda Zia). At the same time, we talked with him.

He said, ‘After the treatment, the Most Merciful Allah brought us back to us and the people of the country. He led the struggle for our democracy and made it successful. That is the expectation of the people of Bangladesh.

Fakhrul said, “We are praying to Allah that this journey will be successful and that he will return to us after proper treatment.” Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that there was no political talk today.

BNP Secretary General said, ‘Khaleda Zia has given instructions that working together should work for the people. We hope he will return to us soon after treatment.’

Among the members of the standing committee were present – Dr. Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Zamir Uddin Sarkar, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, Selima Rahman, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Dr. A ZM Zahid Hossain and Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.

Earlier, the President of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) met with Khaleda Zia in Feroza. Colonel (retd) Ali Ahmad Bir Bikram. There was a long 30 minute discussion between them.
