Switzerland plans to support pensioners by introducing a 13th pension, given the significant rise in living costs. Hungary has already implemented this measure, and Poland even offers a provision for a 14th pension. Similarly, pensioners in Romania requested the allocation of an additional annual pension or the establishment of a 13th pension payment.
According to the provisions of the New Pension Law that will enter into force on September 1, there is no 13th pension. However, social vouchers will be kept, but they will also have a reduced amount.
Pension recalculation decisions. The date the postman brings them to the gate
CNPP announces that pension recalculation decisions will be sent between August 15 and 31. This clarification comes after discussions in the public space regarding the possible reductions in pensions.
According to the National Public Pension House, no decision has yet been issued to recalculate pensions in accordance with Law 360/2023.
CNPP mentions that the retirement files are subject to periodic verification by the specialists from the territorial pension houses, a practice applied since the implementation of the pension system, starting with Law no. 27/1966, Law no. 3/1977, Law no. 19/2000 and Law no. 263/2010.
“Until now, there is no decision to recalculate pensions sent based on Law 360/2023.
Retirement files are periodically checked by specialists from the territorial pension houses.
The reverification activity has been carried out ever since the pension system existed (since Law no. 27/1966, Law no. 3/1977, Law no. 19/2000 and Law no. 263/2010). If errors are found, review decisions are issued.
These decisions are, as the case may be, either increasing or decreasing the amount of the pension. In the case of an increase, the amounts are granted immediately, in a single installment, and in the case of a decrease, the amounts are paid in stages”, CNPP transmits on his social media page.
