Are you wondering what the Dex function in your Samsung mobile phone or tablet does? We explain.
Samsung DeX started as a way to turn your phone into a computer. By connecting it to an external monitor, mouse and keyboard, you get something similar to a PC. This is not a user scenario that has taken off but DeX has evolved towards the more useful features that follow from this. For example, you can use the mobile against a smart TV if, for example, you are going to show a presentation or play games on a large screen. the connection can be made both by cable and wirelessly. If you have a tablet from Samsung, DeX can also be used on the tablet’s own screen to get a more computer-like user interface with activity bar and apps in windows.
As DeX is quite demanding on the mobile’s processor, the function is not available on cheaper and slower mobiles and tablets from Samsung.
