What is the best country in the world? The answer to this question may vary, depending on the criterion adopted. For example, we can distinguish countries with the most monuments, the highest wages, and so on – taking into account specific factors, we will indicate specific winners. But what if a given country is simply supposed to be… the best?
It is difficult to answer this question, but the portal took up the challenge. US News and World Reportwho, in cooperation with several entities (including scientists from the University of Pennsylvania), has once again prepared ranking of the best countries in the world. What factors were taken into account when assigning individual seats?
There were several elements influencing the position in the ranking – and it is not about tourist factors. The authors of the study took into account, among others, the general quality of life of the inhabitants and the political environment, even its stability. The place was also influenced by the legal system, the degree to which it is respected, crime rates and conditions for business development. Yes – rich countries are inevitably doing better.
The winner was not surprising – it was Switzerland, the best country in the world in 2024. This country took 1st place for the third time in a row, and for the seventh time since the ranking was prepared. Among the most important arguments for this choice were the environment open to business, including the entrepreneurship of its residents and the overall quality of life. One of the highest scoring categories in the case of Switzerland turned out to be the one related to human rights – gender equality, taking care of human rights and achieving climate goals.

By the way, where did Poland rank in the ranking? Well, our country has not been appreciated much – was in 37th place. There were many places above us whose superiority may be questionable. For example… Russia.
The title of the best country in the world may make it seem quite distant in our imagination. But nothing could be further from the truth, because getting to Switzerland from Poland is quite easy. There are many planes flying there, and some of them are low-cost airlines, so transport will turn out to be quite inexpensive.
Currently flights from Poland to Switzerland offers Wizzair, easyJet, Swiss and PLL LOT. From Polish airports we can go directly to Basel, Geneva and Zurich. It is worth remembering, however, that a cheap plane ticket is the only thing that will be cheap during a trip to Switzerland. You will leave a lot of money on the spot.
