Many drivers do not know the abbreviations and the meaning of the inscriptions in the registration certificate of the car they own. Here is what letter indicates the cylinder capacity of the vehicle and what is the full legend of a car registration, from the first to the last tab.
The car registration certificate contains several letters and numbers. Each point provides important information about the car, carrying capacity, technical inspection and, of course, the owner.
The legend of the car ticket is, however, quite complex and many drivers do not know what each point in the ticket represents.
Mandatory documents that must be presented in the event of an inspection
When a driver is stopped for a check, he must present several documents to the police:
- driving license;
- identity card/passport;
- registration certificate (car license plate);
- compulsory car insurance (RCA).
According to Art. 35, para. (2) of the Highway Code, drivers cannot submit a copy of the coupon, bulletin or driver’s license to the control. Only RCA insurance can be submitted electronically.
What happens if you no longer have your driver’s license?
If you no longer have your driver’s license, you can no longer drive legally. Because the law obliges you to present the original vehicle registration certificate.
Thus, a duplicate must be obtained after the vehicle registration, in order to have the right to drive on public roads with that vehicle again.
„It constitutes a misdemeanor and is sanctioned with the fine provided for in class III of sanctions (…) failure to comply with the driver’s obligation to have the documents on him”, it is stipulated in Art. 101 (18), of the traffic law.
Which means that drivers who do not have their license plate on them risk a fine of over 1,300 lei.
